I've been having chest pains?

Recently I've been having chest pains, like all over my chest. ummmm it's not excrutiating pain, but it hurts. I asked my stepmom and dad and they said it was just growing pains. Is it true? Are my ribs and/or growing? The pain has been all over, but it usually comes back to the left side like right under my left .
