Question regarding hand in warm water prank?

O.K., I can only answer part of this question. When I was in Jr. High, we did this as a party, but with a twist. We put one hand in a bowl of warm water and one hand in a bowl of cold water. The people we did it to were all awake though, but every single person said they needed to pee afterwards.
