Tongue Piercing Issue!!?

I had my tongue pierced on October 16, 2008 and it didn't hurt at all, but I did feel like I was going to p out. Anyways, no issues until the next day when I had a lisp and my tongue swelled like crazy. On the second day, the bottom of the bar had been forced through the bottom of the piercing and into my tongue. I called my piercer and since the guy wouldn't be in until Monday they told me to suck on ice and wait it out. As of now the bar fits, but sometimes it still slips back inside the piercing. Should I continue to wait it out since the swelling will come down or go and get it changed? Has anyone else had this experience?
