Why the MC1 1C parachute doesn't have a pilot chute?

The similar Chinese Type 9 parachutes have a pilot chute to deploy the main parachute but the american MC1 1C parachutes don't have a pilot chute. Whys is that? What advantage not having a pilot chute creates? Need to know. Thanks a lot. Sohel
