I drive a 1993 GMC Jimmy, and just recently the floor on the penger side has been getting hot.?

I think that it only does this when I drive longer distances (over 60 miles). I'm not sure if the transmission is overheating, or if it's just radiant heat from the exhaust system (which is roughly underneath the penger side). Do I need to worry about this?
